The son of a former U.S. President who would end up making it to the job, George W. Bush had no shortage of suitors as a young man. In the late ’60s, he was engaged to a woman called Cathryn Lee Wolfman, but it just wasn’t meant to be… And ten years later, he met a lovely schoolteacher called Laura Welch at a barbecue and quickly fell in love with her.

Since then, George and Laura have been a powerhouse of a couple. They left the White House in 2009, but they remained extremely influential in the world of politics. In 2021, the two Republicans attended Joe Biden’s inauguration together.
