Jorge Garcia is a hard gainer. It’s very difficult for him to lose weight because it has been an issue for him since an early age. His weight was at almost 400 pounds due to his unhealthy habits and eating patterns. As part of the cast of Lost, the show runners and other casts were concerned about his health and urged him to lose weight. And for filming 118 episodes, it won’t be realistic if he is not losing weight in a desolate Island. Considering their advice, he hired fitness training coaches and nutritionists to help him and he initially lost 30 pounds.

Garcia continued his fitness journey after filming for Lost. His nutritionist put him on the Nooch diet, a high-protein and low-carb diet. This made him eat more varieties of fruits and vegetables rather than burritos. Along with a regular exercise, this helped him continuously shed off extra pounds.
